Back to Chicago

So on the 1st of June we flew in from New York and Lindy flew in from North Carolina and somehow we managed to find each other in one of USA's largest and busiest airports.

Lindy was back in her old neighbourhood where she has worked for a couple of summers and scooted us off to see her old place. Lindy had sweet-talked one of her friends, Kristie into letting the 3 of us stay with her for 2 days while we were there. It was pretty tight with all of us there, cherry pie, Kristie's dog clearly did not approve of me at least as she growled and barked at me the whole time.

Dinner was a deep dish Chicago speciality pizza, it was about 3cm thick. One piece was enough and the pizza fed 3 hungry people with leftovers...

The next morning we were off to visit '6 Flags Great America' the theme park where Lindy worked (yes..great america...that's really part of the name). The drive there was punctuated by the stop for take-away Starbucks coffee...now becoming a compulsory morning, afternoon and evening fix!! The park was pretty impressive with plenty roller coaster rides. The water park, I'm sure would be tons of fun but was typically american - cheesy, kitch & gaudy !

The highlight of the stay was an outing to US Cellular Baseball Stadium to watch the Chicago White Sox get a lesson from the Oakland A's 5-0. It was a really great experience to be at the ball park eating polish rolls and waiting for the homer...Kristie's boyfriend Nick is a fanatic and gave us the lowdown.
